EMC Centera with NBU 7.x

Hi ALL

Is anyone out there backing up EMC Centera using NBU 7.x?

I was surprised to see that Symantec has dropped support for EMC Centera.

Appears in NBU 6.5 HCL: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH48687

Not in 7.x HCL: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH76495

The confusing part is that it is still listed in listed in the NetBackup for NDMP doc: NAS appliance information (Updated: 2013-02-27)  http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH31885

p. 10:

EMC Centera with Centera Backup and Recovery Module (CBRM)

Thanks Chris. Yes, It seems EMC themselves don't support CBRM anymore.

Just suprised that it was not removed from the updated 'NAS appliance information' pdf.

Answer from our local SE:

EMC EOL’d CBRM in May of 2009. This was primarily a business decision based on the cost of Engineering vs. how many they actually sold. The poor performance of NDMP backups with the Centera didn’t help either.

EMC’s new direction is to position Centera Replication as the primary Centera Disaster Recovery solution.

This was an EMC decision the NDMP API is no longer available.

My gut instinct is that we didn't list them because EMC themselves don't support them any more.  Do you happen to know if they've passed an EOL date?  They tend to keep that info behind a wall so I could easily be waaaaaay off.
