IIN MY NBU6.0MP4, all tape cant reach the FULL state.
when the tape cant be written because of the no space, the NBU give the error code like this:
2008-3-21 0:48:39 - positioned D127L3; position time: 00:02:32
2008-3-21 0:48:39 - begin writing
2008-3-21 1:00:22 - Error bptm(pid=144018) close error on media id D127L3, drive index 5, No CSI structure available. (bptm.c.18123)
2008-3-21 1:00:24 - Error bpbrm(pid=126770) from client PRODUCT: ERR - bpbkar exiting because backup is aborting
2008-3-21 1:11:42 - end writing; write time: 00:23:03
media close error(87)
I HAVE CHECKED THE MEDIAMGR-ADMIN GUIDE, FOLLOWING DESCRIPTION SEEMS LIKE MY SYMPTON. BUT MY "Allow Backups to Span Media " IS SETTED.
NetBackup does not span media if Allow Backups to Span Media is not specified. In this case, the backup terminates abnormally when the end of media is reached and the operation is rescheduled according to the Global Attributes host property, Schedule Backup Attempts.
I wonder if i can manually write EOM of the tape and test if the tape cant go to the status of FULL?
any suggestion? thanks!
btw, the tape is LTO3 and hacrt3. IBM LTO3 DRIVER and STORAGE C4 library. MEDIA SERVER IS AIX5.1. TAPE IS SONY LTX400.
