EXIT STATUS 12: file open failed

I was wondering if anyone's seen something similar, I just upgraded to v8 and now my user archive doesn't appear to work;

I get the following

[root@bulger UserArchive]# /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpbackup -c User_Archive -w -f /usr/openv/netbackup/scripts/logs/UserArchive/listfile-1482459951.lst -L /usr/openv/netbackup/scripts/logs/UserArchive/bpbackup-1482459952.log
EXIT STATUS 12: file open failed

This only happens when I include the progress file flag (-L)

It writes out with the following permissions;

-rw-rw-r-- 1 root root       668 Dec 23 09:31 bpbackup-1482507070.log

So what I'm assuming is that the netbackup process doesn't have write to that file but it creates it?! 

The file also gets info written into it;

Anyone seen this before?

Hi Tom - we need a bit more detail...

1) Is "bulger" the client and media server and master server?

2) If more than one node is involved, then could you describe which node is performing which role?

3) If one than one node is involved, then are all nodes at v8.0?  If not, could you list the nodes, the O/S version and NetBackup version of each node?

4) On the node where this log file:

/usr/openv/netbackup/scripts/logs/UserArchive/bpbackup-1482507070.log

...is being written... have you checked the permissions on every folder/sub-folder level of the entire path?
