Enable timestamp in NDMP and VMWARE

Hi guys.

I come again to this platform that helps us so much!

I need to set up a policy type backup "VMWARE" and a second type "NDMP" from "archive bit" to "timestamp". How would this be possible if I do not have the server available in "Host Properties"?

Two totally different policy types with totally different concepts.

For NDMP, read up about NDMP use of /etc/dumpdates for INCR backups.

For VMware, search for Block Level Incr feature.

Hi,

VMware policy type take block level backup for incremental schedule. So I don't think you can change the archive bit to timestamp.

May I know the purpose of doing this?

Thanks & Regards,

For NDMP - you need to check with your vendor - SOME DO NOT ALLOW TIMESTAMP!
