We have installed Netbackup 7.6 for legacy environment.we are going to import all legecy data from tapes without catalog.So we are going to build image database by importing tapes.Need suggestion for encrypting these tapes as tapes are not in encrypted format and its only for restore purpose.Please let me know if there is any way of encryting these tapes using Netbackup KMS or any other stuff.Storage tek SL150 tape library is used and LTO4 or LTO5 is used.
You can't encrypt those media as they have data on them. You can only encrypt new / clean media, so you could duplicate from non-encrypted to encrypted. for encryption you need encrypted drives, or use something like media server encryption option.
