We have a possible solution for this issue.

After looooongest hours of works, Here the solution.

The DXI have install the Firmware 1.4.2

1. Uninstall the OST Plugin version 2.1.18 and Install the OST version 2.1.17 on masters and media servers.

Register again the server to the storage server using the following command:

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbdevconfig -creatests -storage_server Storage-ServerName_IP-of-DXI -stype Quantum -media_server SERVER-NAME -st 9

If you have installed Netbackup on a different drive (Not C:) Be sure to put the correct drive where the plugin file was installed. By default the ost plugin install on C:\Programs Files\Veritas\Netbackup\Bin\OST-Plugins and put in your correct Netbackup path.

2. Create a flat file and named DPS_PROXYDEFAULTRECVTMO on root\Programs Files\Veritas\Netbackup\db\config

Open this file with notepad and type 1500 and Save the changes.

Try your backups again. Let me know

Hi,

Does it actually write data, and then fails? Or does it fail straight away?

Might want to restart the DXI if possible, and the media server doing the backup as well to be sure.

Yes, The backup jobs started running fast and continuously. But in some point (indeterminate), appear the error message on the detail view and the error 84.

Im doing a restart to both (Master Server and Quantum DXI) and run some backups for test.

I restart the Master Server and the Quantum DXI but the errors continue on some backups.

Here the complete job:

I am having the same issue here. We have pretty much the same setup. NetBackup 6.5.5 with a DXi7500 using OST. We were running firmware 1.2.1 on the DXi with the associated DXi plugin and had no issues. Last week, a Quantum tech came and upgraded the firmware to 1.4.2 and that's when we started having the same problem as described. We've upgraded the OST client to the latest version as per Qauntum and same issue. Quantum sees no problems on the DXi. If someone found a solution, please let us know! Thanks!

Hi,

I think you'll need to involve support on this one.

but not sure if they relate.

Search for "2060022" or "cannot write image to disk, Invalid argument" or some such.

I'd increase logging level to 5 and would have a look to the bptm log. There should be indication of the failing, component  if it's an OST plug-in, a case with Quantum support could be helpful
