Error 98

Hello All,

Some backups are failing with error code 98.

I had verfied that all the tape drives on that particular media server are UP.

I had checked all the failed jobs in all the jobs media id are different however drive is Unique.

 

Master:- LINUX, 7.5.0.5

Media Server :- Solaris 7.5.0.5

I had checked and found that there in one entry of the drive in question at below mentioned location on media server

 

/usr/openv/netbackup/db/media/drives

 

Can someone pls assist me on this.

With no jobs running, stop ltid on media server.

Remove any files in 

/usr/openv/netbackup/db/media/drives

/usr/openv/netbackup/db/media/tpreq

and delete /usr/openv/volmgr/misc dir.

Restart ltid.

Thanks for your reply mph999.

 

I just noticed that there are several *.lock files in /usr/openv/volmgr.misc.

Do you want me to delete all those *.lock files ?

Yep, with ltid stopped, just delete the misc dir - it will be recreated when ltid is restarted.
