Error Code 2009

Good Day PPl,

Im facing an error code 2009 that explain “All compatible drive paths are down but media is available(2009)”. This error is talking about getting frequent tape drive down issue while backup running. Even we manually up the drive again its going down after sometime. please help me to let backup start again.

You need to find out why the drives are going down.

Add VERBOSE entry to vm.conf and restart NBU Device Management service.
Ensure bptm log folder exists.

Next time a drive goes DOWN, check Event Viewer System log and Application log for errors as well as bptm log.

Thanks for your reply, below log about NetBackup and windows event, i clean up the drive but the issue still there.

Try to inventory the robot on NBU end... Looks like it is trying to mount a tape which is not in the library at present...

Please share the bptm logs for the same failed job .Did you enabled media manager logs (debug\robot , debug\tpcommand,... etc? Share if you have those as well .

Please attach the logs instead of copying the text .

You need to find out why tapes won't mount.

Confirming Inventory is step 1.

If that is all fine, test manual mounts and dismount with robtest. See:

If that is working fine, ensure all logging is in place as suggested by previous posts.

PS: 

What is the full barcode for media id  NU02L1?
If it is CLNU02L1, then this is a cleaning tape that is incorrectly added as a backup tape. 
You will need to change it to '1/2 inch clean cart 2' and move it to the None pool.
