Hello Experts,

We need to integrate Netbackup in one of our Monitoring tools. It will send the reports to us on the basis of error codes thats got displayed in Netbackup Activity monitor.

Pls let me know the location of the logs of this Activity monitor where can we find the logs so that we can integrate the same.

Its 2008 server with netbackup 7.6.01

Thanks,

you need to write a script to featch the failure info using the bperror command and redirect it to one text file, and let the moniterign tool to read the file to generate the reports ,

for this you need to have the little bit scripting info.

other way is using the Opscenter

we have the alerts avaliable in the Opscenter, use the alert policy for the "job final" status and configure the Email id or SNMP trap host to recive the alerts

Hi,

You can use opscenter to send out alert to your monitoring solution using snmp

http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO87508

Activity monitor info is not saved in logs folder - it is saved in jobs database (/usr/openv/netbackup/db/jobs). So you can't collect the log files as there are none. You can query the jobs database with bperror.
