Dear All,
I have a failed backup with status 6. When I check the logs from bphdb:
You have new mail. It said backint: not found
Then I check it: there's no backint file in /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/run, but there's one in /usr/openv/netbackup/bin
Please help how to solve this problem or recover the backint file here? Can I just copy backint file from other system? Thank you

Create a dynamic link between /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/run/backint and /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/backint
The tech note below provide a instruction how to create a link

Please download the NBU for SAP Admin Guide: http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC3673 .
The configuration steps (including the sym-link) is clearly documented in this manual.

...or backint does exist but isnt in your path. I've seen this too, typically post SAP upgrade.

Hi All,
Thanks for the documents
I have created a new link between /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/run/backint and /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/backint

but, the status is still error status 6. This time it said incorrect parameter options
Please advice how to specify the backint usage?

The correct parameters are listed in the error output:
BR0278I Command output of '/usr/sap/PPD/SYS/exe/run/backint -u PPD -f backup -i /oracle/PPD/sapbackup/.benqbepk.lst -t file_online -c': ERROR: need to specify (-p) /usr/sap/PPD/SYS/exe/run/backint: usage: /usr/sap/PPD/SYS/exe/run/backint -u user_id -p param_file [ -o output_file ] [-i input_file] -f backup|restore|inquire [-t file | file_online] ERROR: incorrect parameter options

About NetBackup for SAP sample backup scripts
NetBackup for SAP installs sample scripts in the following location:
/usr/openv/netbackup/ext/db_ext/sap/samples/sap_oracle
You can use some of the sample scripts as they are, or with a little modification,
you can use them to perform snapshot backups.
