Hi.
I manage Oracle Exadata X5 DB's backups with Netbackup.and RMAN
Netbackup version is 7.7.3 in Master Server and the 4 nodes of the Oracle Exadata appliance
Next week as a part of a DB upgrade to Oracle 12.2 version, DBA's are going to delete the DB and Diskgroups of Exadata which I do backups with Netbackup.
Besides having a full backup of the DB, are there any steps I need to do with Netbackup as preventive actions ?
Regards

Maybe a full online as well as a full offline backup if time permits.
I cannot think of anything else.

One more item for you:
After you have done the Oracle upgrade, double check on your clients if you need to relink RMAN with the Netbackup client.
Here is the link for the NetBackup for Oracle Admin guide. It is for 7.7.2, as I don't believe it was updated for 7.7.3. See Page 43:

Hope this helps,
