Exchange 2007 - Netbackup Support

Is Exchange 2007 supported by any version of Netbackup??

We are upgrading to Ex 2007 this weekend.

We currently are running Netbackup 5.1 MP5, and its listing Exchange support/information store as "Exchange 2000"

Exchange 2007 is not supported by any version of NetBackup at this time. May be later (mid-end) this year with one of the MPs for 6.5 or 6.0

I think if you want to use Netbackup you need Enterprise Vault.

I'm working with the Symantec guys. and the word he gave me, was that E2K7 will be initially supported with NBU 6.5, and later with an MP for older versions, 5.0, 5.1, 6.0.

Yes,
We are backing up our Production Exchange 2007 environment very well with NBU 6.5..

Hi All,

it seems that netbackup does support exchange 2007 but there is not a lot of documentations on how to configure it correctly. i was wondering if anyone is backup there exchange 2007 environment and is willing share with us what and how you are doing it?

If you are backing up exchange 2k7 on which server role did you install the back up client? We are running a scc cluster for the mailbox (traditional exchange 2003 clustering, just on the mailbox).

Exchange 2007 is supported in 6.0 MP6, which was posted Feb 26, 2008.

It is also supported in 6.5.1, posted Dec 2007.

In 6.0 MP6, support is limited to legacy Exchange features (ala Exchange 2003-like features).  There is no support for x64 Snapshot Client and no support for LCR/CCR (cannot yet backup replica; only backup the primary).

In 6.5.1, x64 Snapshot Client support is added.

Planned for 6.5.2 in CY2Q08:

- LCR/CCR support for backing up the replica

- Instant Recovery from a snapshot

- Email granular restore from database backups

Hi Brian,

One of your sales reps sent me patch 5s50 for MP5. Supposedly this will allow netbackup to support exchange  2007. I am looking for documentation on how i could configure it. Do you have any docs on this?
