Exchange 2013 backup/restore using VMware policy

Hi

I read that GRT is not supported for protecting Exchange 2013 database. But how about Exchange 2013 backup and restore using VMware policy? Is it working if I want restore full MS Information Store and not individual mailboxes from full VM backups? Or must I configure MS-Exchange-Server type backup policy?

Our Exchange 2013 running on virtual Win 2012 ( vsphere 5.1) server and our Netbackup clients/servers version is 7.5.0.6

I wonder if its supports are not..

because even with the Vmware policy netbackup needs to install on the client to take the exchange data base...

so as GRT is not supporting from agent method , there is a possiblity of no support from Vmware method also..

but worth checking with Symnatec ...

GRT is not supported with Exchange 2013 or Sharepoint 2013. 

This includes both database backups and vmware backups.
