Hi all,
for my error I had cancelled the exchange job backup.
Now, if I try to start the backup I receive this error:
An existing snapshot is no longer valid and cannot be mounted for subsequent operations (1542)
I had try to use bpfis query and next bpfis delete, below the result:
C:\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\bin>bpfis query
INF - BACKUP START 87328
INF - FIS IDs: mail-srvrm-01.cogetech.locale_1406043804#1
INF - EXIT STATUS 0: the requested operation was successfully completed
C:\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\bin>bpfis delete -id mail-srvrm-01.cogetech.locale_1406043804#1
Usage:
bpfis query [-fq] [-id id -copy Copy number]
-id : detailed information for this snapshot
-copy : detailed information for this copy number of snapshot
bpfis delete [-force] -id id -copy Copy number
-id : snapshot to be deleted
-copy : copy number of the snapshot to be deleted
-force : force delete
INF - EXIT STATUS 20: invalid command parameter
Thanks for the support.
Daniele

Hello,
Thanks for replies.
I have done the services restart but without success.
For resovle this problem, I have restarted the client. Now the backup is started.

Hi,
Login to the clients, stop the netbackup services, kill any netbackup / beds process via task manager, restart the services.
And just be patient, you'll get that error if you cancel and restart in quick succession.

Your command:
"C:\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\bin>bpfis delete -id mail-srvrm-01.cogetech.locale_1406043804#1"
Appears to be missing the "-copy Copy number" parameter

Not good that Exchange Server needs to be restarted to clear snapshots!
This sounds like a VSS issue.
You never told us OS on Exchange Server?
Please check Microsoft Support site for latest VSS hotfixes for this OS.
