NBU 7.6.0.3
i'm verying my GRT installation for Exchange using this link https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.HOWTO73076
and i'm stuck in the entering of domain account for the Exchange in the client properties. the error i keep getting is
"Unable to validate username and password (Windows error 1385). Please verify that the specified username and password is correct"
that error 1385, when taken from the Windows admin point of view, is misleading because the account i'm using is a member of the domain admins and domain admins are already part local administrators group who also have rights to logon locally.
so to isolate if it's a genuine error 1385, i used my own domain admin account and it accepted it. however, whenever i use the account created for the GRT i get the above error.
maybe somebody has resolved this already?

Hi Rino19ny,
Have a look at this technote as well. The service account you are using may need to be added to some additional windows local security policies:
Cannot add a Windows global account to Host Properties, it fails with status 1385 errors

Hope this helps,
Steve

ok just to isolate if its a Windows account issue, i logged in OWA using the GRT account in question and it accepted the password. therefore, it is not a password issue that is throwing the error message. again, if i use another domain admin account it accepts.
i have checked the memberships of this GRT account and it all checks out as per the TN.

Awesome
GRT is a bit of a pain to get going, but once you've got it set it works great ..... until you upgrade something and it breaks
