Hi There,

I am trying to acheive the following:

clienta has lots of data and small files, I cannot get it to complete inside the backup window.  I am using Windows Policy type as dont have Windows Flash backup lic.

backup f:\data\D* in a policy (it has many folders begining with D don't want to have many policies)
backup f:\data\Daily\Huge in a seperate policy
using the client exclude properties: exclude f:\data\Daily\Huge from the first policy so it doesn't backup twice.

Create new policy backup_clienta_D for clienta:
backup selecion: f:\data\D*

Create a new policy backup_clienta_D_Huge for a huge subfolder of clienta:
backup selection f:\data\Daily\Huge

Excude f:\data\Daily\Huge from policy backup_clienta_D

I cannot get the syntax correct.

I have reviewed http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO34243  and the admin guide but cannot see what I am doing wrong.

thanks,

John

Below the Exclude Lists pane, click Add

then select the Policy

  backup_clienta_D

select the Schedule

  <<All Schedules>>

then enter the Files/Directories

  f:\data\Daily\Huge

and click Add and then OK

(all of this is under Host Properties and not in the Policy, by the way)
