Is it possible to configure tape library on vmware guest os and how?.
VMware 5.1
Guest OS win 2008 R2
Netbackup 7.5

Only disk storage is supported on VM media servers.

We often see users on this forum who have actually managed to configure tape libraries on VMs, but then open posts here because they cannot get it to work.
It's a VMware support issue, not NBU....

HI,
Is your Esx server's HBA card can be viewable on your VM's, then you can attach the TL.

Possible, yes. Good idea, as Marianne pointed out, absolutely not! We had pressure a while back to make this work, and we had nothing but inconsistent results. Can it work, sure, but I wouldn't run it in a production environment.
