Status 24 is network error between server and client (not buffer issue).

Unfortunately there is no quick fix for status 24, as initial connection is fine and data transfer is started. 'Something' outside of NBU at OS or network level then breaks the connection.

Is there a firewall anywhere in the picture?
There could be a firewall timeout that is terminating the connection.

You may want to check KeepAlive settings on master, media server and Oracle client - all should be the same.

KeepAlive setting that is lower than firewall timeout should help.

Some times increasing the CLIENT_READ_TIMEOUT can help on Oracle restores.

Have also seen status 24, when the disk on the client has run full when restoring.

The standard questions: Have you checked: 1) What has changed. 2) The manual 3) If there are any tech notes or VOX posts regarding the issue
