Force Netbackup to restore from Tape

Hi,

We are currently using Netbackup 7. I use temporary disk staging before duplicating to tape. This occurs every day. The disk staging is able to keep 3 days of incrementals on-line and 2 weeks of Weekly fulls on-line. As a part of my test restore processes I need to test from tape. Is there a way I can force the test restore to look at the tape library and not the temporary disk staging without taking the DSSU offline?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can manually promote the tape copy (copy 2) to be the primary copy instead of copy 1.

In the Admin GUI, use the Catalog section, search for the backup image and right-click on the copy on tape, select Set Primary Copy. This way NBU will use the tape copy instead of the disk copy.
