Full backup with deduplication

Hi

I have a query with running full backup with deduplication in place. Assuming I am running daily full:

Monday file contains  AB (File containing AB written to pool)

Tuesday file contains ABC.

For Tuesday backup, is it correct that only C is written to pool? Does this also means that I could not afford to lose the Monday backup?

C will be written in Tuesday's backup with pointers to AB.

If Monday's backup is expired, only the reference to the backup will be deleted, not AB because it is referenced in Tuesday's backup.

No - Netbackup will make sure that only unreferenced data is deleted. But if you loose the MSDP pool everything is gone.

I think this TN provide some additional info.

I dont really understand your explanation. So what is being written to the disk on Tuesday backup?
