General Question on FS Restore

I have question with regards to the filesystem restore on huge size of data. recently due to a disaster , we had lost few server data storage and had to restore back the files, But unforunately , once we finished and restore from all the latest available backup . The customer complained on missing few files.
we went back and checked and found the files and restored back.

Is there any chance that while restoring a huge size of data(Ex:4 TB) , few files gets missed restoring.

We selected the file path from Data structure, restored full backup and then Incremental. Please advice.

NetBackup would not intentionally skip files at the time of restore unless some issue is encountered.. If all the files were selected nbu would attempt to restore all of them..

It could be possible that the file was restored successfully but later on deleted from the OS by any 3rd party utility or script..

If nbu skipped a file or could’t restore it you would see a warning message or the restore job completing partially..

The restore progress logs and tar logs can confirm if all the files were restored or any of them were skipped.. if you initiated the restore from the master server you should find the progress logs under user_ops\user_account folder
