Hello Everyone,
I have created a storage unit group with 2 storage units configured in failover mode.
We have DataDomain as Storage target.
Have installed OST plugin 3.0 on media servers.
Have set OptimizedImage attribute on storage server.
Still i get error that Storage Unit group is not supported.
Do i need to set OptimizedImage attribute on disk pools as well?

Did you not read the tech note?
Close the NetBackup console and open Regedit (Start > Run > regedit) and delete the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VERITAS\NetBackup\General\Servers
Exit Regedit and attempt the policy validation again.

I have enabled OptimizedImage attribue for Storage server with command
nbdevconfig -changests -stype DataDomain -storage_server <Storage_server_name > -setattribute OptimizedImage
Do i need to run below command for assocuated diskpools as well ?
nbdevconfig -changedp -stype PureDisk -dp [disk pool name] -setattribute OptimizedImage
Will there be any impact of running this command on disk pools.

So you are not using the WIndows Administrator's GUI like the technote stated.
Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing?

Getting this error.

I enabled OptimizedImage atribute on diskpools as well and it worked.
However i am not seeing any difference in backup duration
We are having windows client, i just selected "Use accelerator" option and started backup for one of the client. 2nd immediate full backup also taking same duration as with 1st full backup.
However i could see few differences in detailed status:
1st Full is showing :
accelerator sent 15649733632 bytes out of 15582778368 bytes to server, optimization 0.0%
duration - 16 mins
2nd Full is showing ;
accelerator sent 80108032 bytes out of 15612392448 bytes to server, optimization 99.5%
duration - 13 mins
May i say Accelerator is effective.
Do i need to select " use chnage journal" option as well for better result.
Please let me know.
