Getting error as ->inventory failed :unable to initialize robot 204

Hi all ,

we have vertias netbackup 6.5 .

the OS is windows server 2003

i am getting the following error while running the inventory robot :

Inventory failed :unable to initialize robot 204

please help me

Important information when starting a new discussion:

1. Has this worked previously?

2. If yes, what has changed in the meantime?

3. What troubleshooting steps have you performed up to now?

Have you confirmed that the robot is visible in Device Manager?

Any errors in Event Viewer System and Application logs?

How is robot connected to the server - Fibre or SCSI?
Have you checked that physical connection is good?
Have you verified that robot door is closed and robot is up and running?  (Recently opened and closed robot door will take some time for robot to initialize.)

Have you tried to reboot robot and the server?

log on to the server that is controling the robot and run the robtest utility from the command line. try to move a tape to a drive and back. robtest will tell you what is the problem.

hey hi..

i had rebooted the server and its working fine now .now i am able to succesfully run the inventory robot.

Glad all is fine now.

PLEASE upgrade your environment ASAP - NBU 6.5 ran out of support in Oct 2012.
