Media id JDG091 is FULL - no more space for backups.
Media Status: FULL MPX

As you are saying the tape is already written with some data, i doubt this is a problem with multiple retentions per media. Enable this property in master server properties. By default this check box will be cleared.

can you plz run below command on master server & post o/p.
<install_path>\veritas\netbackup\bin\admincmd\nbemmcmd -listmedia -mediaid -m 123XYZ
123XYZ will be your problematic (old) media

bpcd log is for connectivity issues.
bptm for tape management.
Please bear the following in mind:
Media servers do not share media by default.
Multiple retentions are not allowed by default and certainly not recommended.
Media, drive and STU densities must match.
Available media must be in the robot.
Scratch pool must be marked as 'scratch' in pool properties.
If different pool is specified in policy or schedule, check pool and Scratch.

About how NB writes to tapes - I think this will help you understand why the tape is listed at FULL with only 500 gb on it.

Check all tape media if there's any frozen media, in case that there's any media frozen set the the tape media to unfreeze state (active) and then tried to run the back again.
