Guided recovery builds param file that wont work with the db

Hi all

Trying to clone a db, it all goes well until it has to restore:

05/19/2014 15:19:14 - Info bphdb (pid=4858) INF - RMAN-03002: failure of startup command at 05/19/2014 15:19:13
05/19/2014 15:19:14 - Info bphdb (pid=4858) INF - RMAN-04014: startup failed: ORA-12700: invalid NLS parameter value (nls_territory)

My dba has fiddled and found that if the value for nls_territory is in quotes, it works!

Trouble is ...where does this value get set, how can we override it? Looks like the app misconfigures the restore param and voids the restore.

Rather defeats the object.

Solaris / 7601.

TIA,Jim

Having looked closer, this param is the only one in a whole set that has a space in it. Looking like a bug to me.

And there are a few hits about setting this incorrectly indeed united kingdom needs its quotes. So I think the question is: how to get intelligent recovery to do it correctly?

Seems nobody else has tried this or has had a similar experience.

Probably best to log a Support call with Symantec to let them know about this bug?

Thanks.
