HOW TO CONFIGURE CATALOG BACKUP IN AIR

Hi All,

We have two sites (Primary & DR). Currently we are doing a backup and catalog replication to DR site using SLP. We are not facing any problem for normal backup’s replications but some time we are facing issue with catalog backup replication.

Both Master servers are windows 2008 R2 Ent

Netbackup is 7.1.0.4

Below is the Catalog backup Source server side configuration

Catalog Source.jpg

Below is the Catalog backup Destination server side Configuraitoin

Catalog Dest.jpg

The problem we are facing is, we could see the pending images using the command "nbstlutil.exe stlilist -image_incomplete -u" even the import and duplications are completed in the destination server.

These pending images are only for catalog backup not for normal backups.

Why the pending images are there even import and duplications are completed.

Is there any special configuration for replicating the catalog backup?

Normal backups also the same configuration

Hope you have understood my problem. Please suggest any solution

Do you see pending catalog image when you run "nbstlutil pendimplist -U" ?

Interesting, I will try to test this when back to work next week.

I will see if there it makes a difference as my version would be 7.5.0.6

HI RajKumar,

You might want to upgrade to NB7.5.x , in my test I setup the exact AIR as your environment. Once the import & duplication are done, I can see those images created at the duplication storage. Running the following commands show the correct outputs:

C:\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\bin\admincmd>nbstlutil pendimplist -U
(No output)

C:\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\bin\admincmd>nbstlutil stlilist -copy_type import  -U
Image wclnt1_1382485213 for Lifecycle msair is COMPLETE
Image sclnt1_1382792401 for Lifecycle msair is COMPLETE
Image sclnt1_1382799601 for Lifecycle msair is COMPLETE
Image master1_1382799602 for Lifecycle msair is COMPLETE
Image master1_1382857725 for Lifecycle msair is COMPLETE
Image master1_1382857772 for Lifecycle msair is COMPLETE
(the above 2 are my catalog backup)

C:\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\bin\admincmd>nbstlutil stlilist -image_incomplete -U
(No output)

Not sure why you need the catalog backup replicated to remote site?

Normal backups are already replicated to remote site and after import, remote master catalog is already updated with image info.
