Thanks Marianne for information.

Issue is resolved. problem was with the host HBA mapping on HP Library end. We have mapped the host HBA and issue resolved.

Have you checked Hardware Compatibility from HP and Solaris perspective?

What is make/model of the tape drive?
What is Solaris version and patch level?

Check Solaris st driver to see if it contains drivers for your tape drive.
e.g. if some type of LTO/Ultrium, do the following:

# cd /kernel/drv/sparcv9

 # strings st |grep -i ultrium

Check output to see if your make/model is listed.

If not, check Oracle web site for updated st kernel patch that supports your tape drive.

Check OS requirements with HP as well. They may be able to provide st.conf entries.
