HP UX client

Hi, my master server is NBU 7.0.1 on Windows 2008 R2. I have a few HP UX clients (HP UX 11.00) and would like to install NBU agent on these clients. My questions are:

1. Which policy type should I choose when I configure backup policy? Is it "standard"? Or is there a particular policy type for HP UX? I only need to backup some file directotires.

2. In backup selection, can I browse for the UNIX directories or I need to type them manually?

Thanks.

Policy type is Standard for all Unix/Linux clients.

I would use ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES in combination with 'Allow Multiple Data Streams' in policy Attributes tab.

Else, type in folders manually.

Hi,

The policy type to use is STANDARD.

I don't think you can browse UNIX if your master is Windows. Never really tried that.

1. Standard

2. Yes, you can.

You can't browse directories from the master server when selecting directories to backup

As file path I would recommend using "/"

BUT YOU MUST AT THE SAME TIME check "Cross mount points" in the policy.

You will not be able to run the 7.0.1 HP-UX client for it.  As per the master compatibility list for 7.0 at http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH76648, 11.11 is the oldest supported version (assuming PA-RISC).

You can install a 6.x client on it and this is supported (http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH70729.
