Hello,

you must have at least one of your HP-UX clients configured as a Boot Server. Refer to appropriate documentation. Then you should be able to create a HP-UX SRT.

If you have only one HP-UX client, use it for SRT creation, then copy created .iso to a safe location. You should be then able to boot and restore this system event if there would not be a live HPUX Boot Server at the moment.

Hello,

You can not create the Unix SRT on Windows boot server. The boot server should be the same OS platform.

You need HP-UX OS DVD mounted on boot server while creating SRT.

To restore the Unix backup on different hardware is not supported.

Have you gone through this section in the manual?
(Seems the manual was not updated to reflect currently supported HP-UX version, so, you need to check for 11.31 paths. )

To create an HP-UX SRT

......
BMR searches for the following directory
(x.x is either 11.00 or 11.11):    #### ( I think the manual was not updated from older versions to reflect 11.31)
■ Ignite-UX/FILE-SRV-x.x/opt/ignite/data/Rel_B.x.x/(BOSdatapath)

If the BOSdatapath directory is found, BMR expects the Ignite installation image to be in one of the following directories. (Note that -PA indicates Ignite version B41.)
■ Ignite-UX/BOOT-KERNEL/opt/ignite/data
■ Ignite-UX/BOOT-KERNEL/opt/ignite/boot
■ Ignite-UX/BOOT-KERNEL-PA/opt/ignite/data
■ Ignite-UX/BOOT-KERNEL-PA/opt/ignite/boot

If the BOSdatapath directory is not found, BMR looks for a file named INSTCMDS from the tar file supplied in one the
following directories: (Note that -PA indicates Ignite version B41.)
■ Ignite-UX/BOOT-KERNEL/opt/ignite/data
■ Ignite-UX/BOOT-KERNEL-PA/opt/ignite/data
If the file is not found, BMR cannot install Ignite.

So, please check the folder structure that you have specified to ensure that the required folders and files exist.
You may also want to log a Support call with Veritas to point out the outdated in the NBU manuals.
I have also checked the 8.1.2 BMR manual - it's exactly the same.

Hi Marianne,

I read the manual and follow guideline still not working.

Also log case in support.

Thanks for your support.
