Help needed with NBU 6.5.4 client install on MAC OS X 10.6 Server

I see that Mac OS X 10.6 is in the supported list now with NBU 6.5.4. However, when we download the latest tar from fileconnect (NetBackup_6.5_CLIENTS2.tar) - and try to run it on our MAC Server - we get an error stating this client is only supported by Mac OS X 10.3 and 10.4...

Is there a different client we should be trying ?

Thanks in advance.

Release Update NB_CLT_6.5.4.tar provides fixes for the Veritas NetBackup (tm) Enterprise Server / Server 6.5 on UNIX clients. NetBackup UNIX Add-on products and Database Agents have separate Release Updates.

I think you want the 6.5.2 client:

Release Update NB_MAC_6.5.2.tar.gz provides platform proliferation for the Veritas NetBackup (tm) Enterprise Server / Server 6.5 Client on MAC OS 10.5 (Leopard) clients.

http://support.veritas.com/docs/304434

This is the base installation for Leopard, but I think it'll also work on Snow Leopard (long enough for you to apply 6.5.4 at least!)

Good luck!

We got further with that installer, but not convinced it worked -- there was a segfault:

The actual install completed - the bit that failed was an attempt to look for your running xinetd process so a HUP signal could be sent to it, but since this version of the binary doesn't WORK for your O/S, you get that error instead.

You should be good to go with an install of the CLT update of your choice to bring it into supportability.

(A manual `kill -HUP` of your xinetd pid wouldn't hurt as well, just in case it isn't included in the release update installation process)
