You did not mention which GUI you are using or which NBU version?

If NBU 6.x and Java GUI, please see this TN:

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH55338

If you have the Java Console installed on your desktop, edit the relevant file on the Master as well as your desktop:

On Windows hosts, the file is; <install location>\Veritas\NetBackup\java\setconf.bat
On Unix and Linux hosts, the file is; /usr/openv/java/nbj.conf

Disable FORCE_IPADDR_LOOKUP.

On Windows hosts, insert or change this line;  SET FORCE_IPADDR_LOOKUP=0
On Unix and Linux hosts, insert or change this line; FORCE_IPADDR_LOOKUP=0

Server O/S & NetBackup version?

Java or Windows Admin Console?

Is this "no response" just for one client or all clients?

Does the GUI just 'hang' or do you get an error code? If the latter what code/error message?
