By default Netbackup will try to run the incompleate images untill they are are compleated or met with longest retenction defined in SLP.

you can see the SLP intervel time in Master server Host propoerties -> SLP parameters.

you need to make sure the SLP jobs that are triggering are gettting successfull to move them from incompleate state to compleate state.

i see this images is less than 24 hours old, Do you see any SLP job failures?  if you see SLP jobs are gettting succesfulll i would let Netbackup to do its job as long as jobs are gettitng enough resouces to compleate it.

As suggested by @RamNagalla SLP will handle the duplication and you shoudld not be worried about incomplete jobs. Do monitor the status so that you are aware what's going with the jobs. SLP will not expire the primary image until the second or defined # copies are created.

Adding to the excellent answer above ...

It is impossible to manually start a SLP duplication, this is by design.

Thank you, if I have incomplete images, what will I do with them ? cancel or expire them ? Thank you.

Why you want to cancel before you now why there complete?? You can only cancel the SLP duplication that are not complete and cannot expire. Before doing that can you please check if the SLP is active?? You can check in GUI or use nbstlutil report command to check the status of SLP.

Did you perhaps make any changes to SLPs? If so, you will need to change the version of incomplete SLPs to match the updated SLP version.

Hi Marianne,

How to update SLP versions, could you please share command.

I don't make any change on SLP, it keeps failing if it reads from one media server to another to write to tape or DD was timing out. Also I found something wrong on vm.conf of master1, I hope it is root cause of this issue.

[root@cark2nnobkup-master1 volmgr]# cat vm.conf
MM_SERVER_NAME = cark2nnobkup-master1

I made a change and it is same as on master2

#MM_SERVER_NAME = cark2nnobkup-master1
CLUSTER_NAME = cark2nnobkup-master_cluster
DEVICE_HOST = cark2nnobkup-master_cluster

How can I refresh netbackup without stop/restart netbackup services after modified vm.conf ? I know we can run bprereq to refresh netbackup without restart netbackup services.

Best if you continue to work with Support. Your problem is clearly not with incomplete SLPs, but with failing duplications, which results in incomplete SLPs.

You need to find the reason for the failures, then SLP duplications will complete.

Thank you very much

I am also facing same issue earlier, we are getting 191 errors in console, its simply says windows close behaviour. If you are chaning SLP windows offently in SLP's itself then we need to do SLP version update, this is bit difficult so we are using SLP new time window in GUI Storage-->SLP Windows-->SLP new time window.Now we are completing duplications as well .
