Hi All,
I am searching for answer for how many no. of cleaning count should be set on HP-LTO3 cleaning tape?
This question comes in my mind when i came across following message while cleaning tape drive
"No cleaning tape is defined in the device's robot or 0 cleanings remaining"
When vmqueried the cleaning found below details:
/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/vmquery -m CLNU01
================================================================================
media ID: CLNU01
media type: 1/2" cleaning tape 3 (25)
barcode: CLNU01
media description: Cleaning Cartridge
volume pool: None (0)
robot type: TLD - Tape Library DLT (8)
robot number: 0
robot slot: 4
robot control host: backupmaster
volume group: 000_00000_TLD
vault name: ---
vault sent date: ---
vault return date: ---
vault slot: ---
vault session id: ---
vault container id: -
created: Tue Mar 17 12:53:51 2009
assigned: ---
last mounted: ---
first mount: ---
expiration date: ---
cleanings left: 0
Currently I have incresed this count by changing the tape property
Number of cleaning remiaing >>New count
Previously count was set to 50.
Now my drives are getting cleaned with same cleaning tape.
But still how long I can use the same tape in future.
Pls provide your expert advice.
Thanks & Regards

It's drive dependent - But usually a universal cleaning cartridge can used 15-50 times.

The table shows the maximum number of times the drive allows the FujiFilm cleaning cartridge to be used before reporting that the cleaning cartridge is expired.
