hey

I am confused about your post... Can you please be more clear or rephrase your question?

In regards of available media did you try to run this one?

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/goodies/available_media

to see what is available...

maybe there is different robot type configured and different media types - no idea...

Changing media id generally isn’t recommended unless there is justification for doing so - and either way it isn’t causing status 96. It’s also not that straightforward to do.

Status 96 is most commonly caused by the following.

Mis-match of media density to drive/ storage unit (eg hcart, hcart2 etc).

All tapes are in volume pool x and either no scratch pool or scratch pool is empty, leaving no tapes for volume pool y.

Some tapes are available but contain backups with a different retention to the policy you are running.

All tapes are full, or frozen / suspended.

Those are the main ones I can think of.

For us to help and start to understand the issue we need to know …

What retention level are you trying to use. Run bpretlevel to see the retention periods vrs levels. Eg 2 weeks might be retention level 4

What volume pool is the backup using

What is the output of available_media script (which is in NetBackup/bin/goodies ).
