How to backup Nutanix AFS shares to Netbackup

Ankit7

Hi All,

We want to implement a backup solution for the shares hosted on Nutanix AFS (Acropolis File Server). We have a Linux Master **bleep** media server and a dedicated linux media server. The disk storage is connected to the Master Server.

Please help me understand how can we backup the CIFS shares hosted on Nutanix AFS and how can media server access the CIFS.

Thanks in advance!

CIFS is CIFS, you can still use the old-school method https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.TECH198175

If you can mount the shares on the Linux media server, you should be able to backup with Standard (follow NFS) or MS-Windows policy (backup network drive).

You will need to test restores to see if permissions and ACLs restore correctly.

Best to upgrade to 8.1 to make use of support for Nutanix. See this pinned post:
