The process for checking for orphan images is an internal tool and requires a support call. (Which would then result in the bpstsinfo and require manual PO removal on images determined to be orphaned.)

Assuming this is for MSDP, I don't think there is a simple way without Veritas Support involvement; same applies for Build Your Own MSDP. I have run Images on Disk reports to get details of backup images in a pool and correlated this to an OpsCenter custom report with pre and post dedupe sizes which can give some confidence on whether storage capacity used seems reasonable. You can do this also with bpimagelist and a bunch of scripting. You sometimes find unexpected backup images, long retentions etc. Also incomplete SLP operations can prevent expiry of source images.

You should log a case with Netbackup support, they have tool that can search for orphaned images.
