How to get Services State for all MediaServers

Hi

Does netbackup give us a way to get the state of the running services for the masterserver and the mediaservers ?

The view "Services " from Activity monitor is perfect, but i need to export that data into a monitoring tool so im looking for a command which could do that.

In the case it dosnt exist at all, i will need to check on all mediaservers the state of the services (from the masterserver with WMI), do you have a list of all services that MUST be running on a mediaserver and on a masterserver ?

Thx !

Command will be "bpps".

Try installpath/veritas/netbackup/bin/bpps -s or -S or -l

It's all relative based on the role of the media server - OST, tape drives, MSDP, etc.

See these 2 TN's :

Creating a static script or tool to monitor the status of services is not a good idea. WIth every version of NetBackup there are new services which gets added.

For a more complete monitoring tool I will recomend u to use NBU OpsCenter is way more stable ok n this days and haves a very complete list of monitorig policies at different levels and multiple masters can be monitored from the same OC box. Regards

I only get services running on my masterserver if I use bpps

I agree with you but seems the only solution i got since no command exists from NB to return directly the services and not the processes

Ye were using OpsCenter but ye now will use Splunk to centralize all informations

Maybe there is a way to export that information from a OpsCenter report easily ?
