I am kylix. My MSN number is xudejun_jiali@hotmail.com.  Email: kylix@mic.com.tw

The company in the same group wants to let us read their tape for Disaster Recovery.

They backup all platform servers with Sun SL500 Tape Library and NBU6.0 software. The tape type are LTO3.

we backup all platform servers with ADIC i500 Tape Library and NBU6.0 software. Our tape are also LTO3.

Based on above information, I know we can read their tape in our NBU6.0. But I don't know how to configure.

Anyone can help?

Thanks a lot.

First of all, you need to add the tape(s) to Media Manager. To prevent the newly added tape from being used for backups, create a new pool (something like Import). Next, put the tape in the robot and perform Inventory. Find the newly added tapes in the Media Gui and change the pool to the pool name that you have just created for imports.

Next, follow the steps in this TN to Import the tapes: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH43584
