How to increase timeout value before a status 96 is issued

Some days we run out of scratch tapes in the middle of the night and we see NB waits quite a few hours before it ends the job with a status 96.  I do not see any consistent wait time however.

Is there a timeout value I can increase before NB ends the job abnormally? We want to have a chance to load more scratch tapes in the tape silo.

The greatest timeout I have set is Client Read timeout set to 16384 which is just short of 5 hours.  But that does not seem to be the value used.

Any ideas on how to keep increase this timeout?

Please share examples of what you're referring to. It would usually fail immediately as soon as the drive resource is allocated. If its not, then it could be cause you're waiting for a drive, or media that is in use

I just cleaned up the jobs in Activity Monitor so I cant copy/paste from there.

Is there a place in the logs directory that would have the same info?

BTW - many of the jobs went to "Incomplete" status for a while before the cancelled.  Not sure how this fits in

@sclind

If you plan to troubleshoot errors, best to leave the 'evidence'.

You may find similar info in All Log Entries report, but there will be a lot more info to sift through.

If you have bptm filder on the media server, you can identify the bptm [PID] of the status 96 job.
Extract all entries for that specific PID. The timestamp in the beginning of each line will tell you the delay between events.

Failed job with 'Incomplete' status is indication that Checkpoints have been enabled in the policy.
You will be able to resume the backup once tapes have been added.
