How to limit one tape for different de-duplication job?

I have NetBackup 9.0. I generally offsite our data on LTO tapes.

I am facing issue, when run deduplication job against a selection. It takes another new tape rather than using existing one which has an active status. Both Tapes are now in Active State. Few data chunks from the selection are in tape 1 & few are in tape 2.

Suggest me any way to limit 1 Tape active in one storage pool at a time.

One way to achieve this is to lower the drive count in the storage unit to one.

StefanosM,

There is only one active tape in the main pool where data is being written but it takes the tape from scratch_pool when it comes to do a job.

if the problem is with the tape drives use the limit drives at the storage unit.

if the problem is with the tapes you can change the "maximum number of partially full media"  to 1 at the volume pool properties

Note that different retention levels are using different tapes and I do not suggest to change this behavior.

StefanosM,

Maximum number of partially full media already set to 0 at the volume pool properties.

See below as referred by NetBackup:
