How to restore user contacts from an Exchange GRT backup?

GRT allows restores of individual email items.  Is it possible to do the same for a users contacts?

If not, how would one restore contacts for a user?

Windows 2008 R2, Exchange 2010, NBU 7.6.0.1

Thanks.

James

Turns out that the currently used media server had to be added to the following registry key on the CAS servers.  This media server had been added to the environment since the last restore of any item had been performed.

HKLM\SOFTWARE\VERITAS\NETBACKUP\CURRENTVERSION\CONFIG\SERVER

Not sure how an article about restore to Recovery Database will help here....

I do not have access to Exchange GRT backups, but it will be easy enough to check in your environment.
Navigate to the user's mailbox In BAR GUI and see what is available under 'Top
of Information Store'.

In older versions of Outlook client on user's desktop, it is possible that Contacts are save locally in Personal Address Book (.pab). There is also a possibility that Contacts were saved in Offline Address Book (.oab) on user's desktop.

So, you need to find out if Contacts are stored on Exchange server or on user's local desktop...

Thanks, Marianne.  I will check with the admin.

Update

I have not been able to re-visit this with the admin. However, on another case, there was a CAS server that was not in the Exchange policy or configured for GRT and the associated authentication for NBU. Not sure if this is related or not.

Thanks.
