I'm try to restore a database but keep getting this error.

"Error encountered trying to read database images"

"You may have received this error if you do not have access rights to backup images created for SERVER"

I'm restoring database from one server to another server

Database is backup on Server 2008 R2, SQL 2014
Restore onto Server 2016, SQL 2016
Both server are on Netbackup Client 8.0
I have full admin rights on server and SQL

Master Server: Windows 2012 R2, Netbackup Ver 8

All servers are windows

This is how i'm going it.

Login to Server 2016 (Destination Server) SERVER 2

Open NetBackup MS SQL Client with admin rights

SQL Server Connection properties as

Then Click on File -> Restore SQL Server objects. (Source Server: SERVER1)

 
When I press OK.

Have you added altnames?

Redirecting restores is in the SQL Admin Guide, take a look and see if that helps you out.

chk for altname configurations and also make sure user you are trying have appropriate rights to perform these operations
