I need to run backup for offsite purposes.

Hi Folks,

i really need help.

i currently have 27 active tapes in my catridge drawers and i want to back up my entire VMs to few tapes and take them offsite.

how do i go about this?

kindly come to my aid as my job is on the line.

simple..

create a specific Volume pool and assing them to the Policy that you would like to take the VM backups..

do make sure you have tapes avaliable in Scratch..

so once jobs are triggred it will move the tapes from the Scratch to created Volume pool and take the backups..

so you can find the tapes easily by looking into the volume pool..

hi Folks,

i already have full and incremental backup policies running.I have 12 tapes on scratch pool.

how do i move from here?

you does not need to move..

when backup triggeres... Netbackup looks for the Volume pool that is assinged in the Policy, if tapes are not in that specific pool it wil automatically move the tapes from scratch to specified volume pool and make use of it..
