INF - Skipping backup id there is no fragment 1

Netbackup 7.6.0.1

Windows 2008 R2

Hi there,

I'm using the catalog view in GUI to verify contents of media. I get this error on one of the media:

INF - Skipping backup id (clientname) there is no fragment 1. This media is a second copy as primary copy is on disk.

How would I go about deleting the images on this media?

How can I pull a report that shows if any of my tapes (offsite) contain these fragment errors? Is this possible?

Thanks all for your help.

So no copy 1 or anything on disk in that output.

Copy 2 is primary and split across 1784L4 and 0155L4

Copy 3 is on 1391L4

As you are on 7.6.x and everything is in EMM these days it would be best to take the earlier advice and call support or do the consistency check

If you are in the catalog area running a verify search with copy 2 selected then it should show under the media id column all tapes that the image is held on - then check you have all of those tapes

Why do you want to delete them?

If you really do then :

bpexpdate -backupid servername_epochnumber -copy 2 -d 0

Where servername_epochnumber is the backup id of the image in question and you would select copy 1 for disk and copy 2 for tape depending on which you wanted to delete

Hey Mark,

I actually get this error when I'm in the catalogue (verify) window. So, the tape is not listed and instead the error pops up.

I should have said "duplicate" not delete. My mistake. So, when i attempt to list the media either under verify or duplicate, I get the error.

Are you sure that this is a second copy and copy 1 is still on disk?

Does the catalog show that?

Please show us the details as requested by Marianne

I would suggest you run NBCC - this will look for the types of issues you have described.

It requires a call to Symantec to have it analyzed.

Will do. Thanks again!

Hey Mark,

According to support, you are correct. the image is spanned across multiple tapes, therefore, i had to use the bpduplicate command to duplicate the backup id (rather than do it by volume). This seems to work.
