If I cancel a job which has written several medias, what will happen to those medias? what will be the retention?

NBU will 'cancel ' the image, and the tapes will be available for re-use.

They should return to the state they were, before that backup ran.

Data will be wrote to the tapes, but as Martin mentioned the image will be cancelled. 

NetBackup will have no record of what was written on those tapes, so they will be available next time for reuse.

If is multiplexed the next backup on that tape will go to the end of the las write nebackup will not overwrite over the multiplexed sectors basicaly that piece of the tape will be availale until the media expires.
