hi all, i am getting image inconsistency error while extending the retention of an image... following were the logs.
. C:\Program Files\Veritas\Net Backup\bin\admincmd>bpexpdate -recalculate -backupid  -copy 2 -d 07/06/2010
Are you SURE you want to recalculate expiration dates on all images that meet the following criteria:
backupid  copy 2 to
expire on 7/6/2010 12:00:00 AM Continue?(y/n)y
events out of sequence - image inconsistency
Thanks in advance

Try to verify the image ID properly and then run the command . If there is any mistaken done on the image id then it won't recognise that ID .

For end users, there is very little you can do other than expire the backup.

I advise you to open a support case with Symantec.

Thanks Rajesh for the information...

Actually i typed the Image ID  in small letters, but the IImage ID  in the catalog is in capital letters. Then i  tried by copying the Image ID from the catalog and then pasted in the cmd prompt and  i executed, then the result was successful..
