We have a Standalone Master Server and would like to create a clustered environment. We want to know if the standalone master image database can not yet be imported into the clustered.

OK, the idea here would be to create two new servers with the same OS version and same version of NetBackup. We would import the images generated by our standalone Master Server on these two new servers.

If you have a large amount of images on disk and/or tape, it may take weeks or even months to perform phase 1 and 2 imports.
Bear in mind that phase 1 imports need to be completed before starting phase 2 import.
The problem is that phase 1 imports will expire after a week if phase 2 has not completed.
It may be worth your while to pay for consulting services to perform a catalog migration.
See :
DOCUMENTATION: How to migrate the NetBackup catalog information from one platform to another (UNIX to Windows or vice versa), rename a Master Server, cluster an existing Master Server, or merge multiple NetBackup domains.

Very true, and can catch people out ....
However, after the phase one has completed, you can use bpexpdate to extend the expire time from 1 week to some point further in the future to give yourself more time, before you run phase 2.

Okay, I'll take the necessary time into account. Currently, my new master server can already start backup jobs, but it is important for us to import the stock of our old master. So he would not have to stay active.
Thanks for the feedback.
