I have a Solaris 10 master/media server running 7.0.1 and a Solaris 10 media server (7.0.1) with a direct connected C4 Tape library. Recently I had Oracle replace the hand in the library. I did an inventory from the library's admin console, moved tapes from slot to slot, slot to drive and did a scsi "mt" and saw the tape in the drive. In Netbackup, I removed the drives, storage devices and robot and ran the "Configure Storage Devices" wizard. When I did an "Inventory Robot..."->"Show contents"->"Start" I see only 2 of the 36 slots:
Robot Contents
Slot Tape Barcode
=== ==== ======
1 No
2 No
When I do a "Preview volume configuration changes I get, "Volume configuration is up-to-date with robot contents.
I stopped and restarted the daemons on both the master and media server that the library is connected to. Not sure what to do next aside from removing the media server and readding it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Seems the Oracle engineer did a bit more than just replacing the hand.... Call him back.
The robot itself is reporting 2 slots only.
You can confirm using the following methods:
Open cmd (Run as Administrator), cd <install-path>\veritas\volmgr\bin
scan -changer
ANd/OR:
robtest
(select robot)
s s (show slots)
s p (show inport slots)
s d (show drives)

Hi Marianne!
Yes, robtest and scan both show only 2 slots. I will call him and let you know.

Marianne et al,
Thanks for all your help. That was it. A colleague changed it, thinking that he was helping me trouble-shoot another problem.
