Hi,
I have a NetBackup 7.0.1 installation on two 2008 R2 Standard servers.
I have a server with the following operating system: "Ubuntu Server version 8.04.3, Linux kernel 2.6.24-24" on a i686 cpu, and I would like to include this server to my backup policy and get a regulary backup of this server.
I have tried to read the release notes for the NetBackup 7.0.1 and the install notes, but I cannot find any information for this operation system.
Do you know if it is possible to install the NetBackup 7.0.1 client on this operating system?
- And if so, do you know how to do this?
Kind regards,
Carl-Marius

Hi Carl,
NetBackup 7.x Operating system compatibility guide
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH76648
Canonical Ubuntu is supported as a client. Ubuntu 8.0.4 is supported from 7.0 (see page 12)
Not supported from 7.5 though.

Nice find with that Technote. I always recommend looking in compatibility guides just in case Technotes are out of date.
