Is it possible to configyre NBU to use a generic S3 cloud target for backups?

So I'm just starting to look at options, but I want to set up NBU (v8.2) to use a S3 cloud storage target that is not yet on their compatibiloty list (RStorage)... is this possible?  To add a S3 target that is not an approved vendor yet?  Thank you!
